Yes. We recommend that you seal your countertops every year, because granite is a natural stone and is somewhat porous this protects your countertops from spills that may be left on the counter for a while.
After we install your countertops we do seal the granite and because we use a commercial strength sealing agent you could actually wait two years, after the first year to reseal your countertops.
Sealing granite is just as easy as wiping off your countertops. Just spray the sealing agent on your countertops, allowing it to sit for about 5 minutes so the sealant can penetrate deep into the pores of the granite and then simply wipe it off.
Yes you can. However because granite is so hard you can actually dull your knife cutting on the granite.
No, not usually. The only things that may scratch your granite are diamonds, and other pieces of granite. Granite can only be scratched by materials that are harder than granite itself.
No, granite can withstand heat up to 1200°F. You can set hot pots on your granite countertop without worrying about charring or scorching your granite. It is not recommended to place hot pots near seams or joints.
